       Brief Introduction

      The International Graduate Program of Industrial and Systems Engineering provides both Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The objective of this program is to offer opportunity to learn advance and sophisticated management disciplines for the high-tech industry, especially in electronic industry, and to train students to be a professional and intellectual engineer or researcher in their future career. This international program is included in the graduate program of Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE), College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Dept. of ISE was established in 1964 and has 19 faculties including renowned Dr. Noriaki Kano. All these faculties have studied aboard and have good relationships with local industries and government. There have been more than 8000 outstanding alumni in industry and academy all over the world so far.

       Program Duration and Degree Offered

      MS/MA Program
      A. Courses

      Courses 24 credit hrs
      Seminar 2 credit hrs
      Thesis 6 credit hrs

      Total 32 credit hrs

      B. Time Limit
      Students must complete their master program in four years.

      Ph.D. Program
      A. Courses
      In addition to 12 credit hrs in Doctoral Dissertation, at least 30 credit hrs of courses (excluding 2 credit hrs required for seminars) must be fulfilled in the seven programs. The student must choose one major program and two minor programs. At least five courses (15 credit hrs) must be taken in the major program and at least two courses (6 credit hrs) must be taken from each minor program.
      B. Exams
      Candidates must pass the qualifying exam after they fulfill 32 credits hrs requirement for the courses. For the dissertation, they must pass proposal exam and final defense exam of the dissertation.
      C. Program Duration
      Candidates must complete their doctoral program in seven years.
